What can i do to a new 3.4 engine while its out of the car to make it faster?

Im putting a new 3.4 engine on a v6 camaro but befor i have it put in i want to know what i can do to it to get it up to about 210 horsepower.Please help with good answers only i dont want to spend over 1,000 dallors in upgrades.

Platinium spark plugs make a big difference.
Also check on valve clearances.
