Successful Weekend For GM Performance CT525 Spec Engines
General Motors Performance Parts CT525 crate engine has been tremendously popular with the dirt late model crowd because of it’s power and economy that we have seen the crate engine win in every series that it is allowed to compete. Â This past weekend at Boyd’s Speedway where Ronnie Johnson took a CT525 to the fast time award and 40 lap feature win in the SAS event, is what we have come to expect of this affordable powerhouse engine.
The battle between crate engine fans and open rules engines is still raging, due largely in part to the CT525’s performance against the open engines in series that allow the crate engine to compete against the open engines on the same track. Â Prior to the CT525’s appearance, crate engines were strictly limited to crate engine series where they could compete and have a fair chance of winning. Â With the rules being modified for a sealed crate engine and a chassis weight break for teams opting to use the CT525 crate engine in competition, we have seen the crate engine have very good success against the costly and more powerful open engines.
In the hotly contested debate between crate engines vs. open engines, one thing is clear: Â The CT525 has left it’s mark and is here to stay.
