Will a 160 thermostat from a 4.8 work on my 4.3 v6?

I have a 2001 gmc sierra 4.3 v6. Im looking to install a 160 thermostat but I cant find one for my engine. Will a thermostat from a 4.8 or 5.3 work with my engine. Some one told me that the 4.3 and the 4.8 are the same engine but 2 pistons less. so will
Do not install a 160 degree F thermostat in your Sierra. This will pay havoc with readings from your sensors to the ECU and will reduce power and increase fuel consumption.
If you are getting overheating, check if the sensor controlling the radiator
