Small engine spark Briggs 5HP?

There is no spark in a 5hp Horizontal shaft Briggs model 130212 type 0735 02 and I need to know if the new style electronic spark module will work as a replacement for the bad coil and points/ capacitor it now has in it?

Yes, it will work. The coils are pretty much interchangeable. I used one from a 3.5 hp mower engine that I got for free on an 8hp and it works great. Beat the cost of a new coil and I got rid of the points.
