How do I change the preset starter Pokemon on Pokemon Ruby (emulated)?

So I am familiar with editing maps in Advance Map, changing appearance of sprites etc.
At at the beginning of Ruby and Sapphire the starters to choose from are Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko, right? How do I change it so other Pokemon can
