How to hack a Trane Thermostat?

I have a Trane XL600 series thermostat and I want it to display a temperature 3 degrees higher that what it is actually set at (i.e. Set at 70 but displaying 73) My family is always fighting over the temperature and the majority of us want it at 70, but

What would be alot easier and alot cheaper to do, (since basic human responsibility and decorum has taken flight out the window) would be take the digital thermostat off the wall walk out into the driveway and drop kick it as far as humanly possible.....
